Our Treehouse getaway
Okay, Okay, so we just got home from what might be the coolest Airbnb we've ever stayed in. I shared it a ton on my instagram story, but we loved it so much, I wanted to put all the info out there so others can book a trip and experience such a cool getaway if they are interested. (Read till the end to see other unique properties owned by the same couple)
So, here it is, a real life adult treehouse:
It's located in Asheville (more specifically, Weaverville, about a 10 min drive from downtown Asheville). It is inside of a little gated community at the top of the mountain called Serenity. The Airbnb pictures in the listing were gorgeous, and we weren't sure what to expect, but we were not disappointed. It's a 1 bed/1 bath, but the bedroom area does have a small loft that would work for if you have a younger child you wanted to travel with you.

The owners have truly done a wonderful job with so many unique touches throughout the entire house. From a little snack/drink basket, tons of interesting books/magazines on Asheville and other treehouses around the country, as well as a fully stocked game cabinet.
When you first walk up the stairs, you enter into the living room area, which has the cutest decor, a little couch and TV, as well as a rocking chair.
Which backs immediately up to the bar/table area, and the kitchen. There is no oven, but there is a full sized fridge, and a microwave. (But honestly with all of the delicious food in Asheville, who wants to cook their own food). The owners have also included a list of great places to eat (and one even delivers right up to the treehouse)
Everywhere in the kitchen, and bar area has 180 degree views of the mountains, which is just so peaceful and beautiful to look at from almost anywhere in the house.
By far, our favorite thing about the house was the deck off of the kitchen. The views were amazing - honestly some of the best mountain views we've seen in NC from a place we were staying. We spent most of our time out on the deck rocking in the rocking chairs, and drinking some local craft beer we picked up, or waiting on the sunet (perfect sunset view from this location). There is also an adorable little bar outside to eat at or for kids to sit. So many small touches that make this place so unique.
Here are a few pictures of the deck, as well as the views from the deck.
I just don't even have enough good things to say. We were truly sad when it was time to leave. For more pictures and a video tour of the entire house, feel free to watch my Treehouse highlight on my instagram (@kelly.rainwater).
As we were leaving, we ran into the owners, (who were there working on future treehouse properties) and we got to chatting with them a bit. Turns out, they own several properties in this gated community, and are in the process of building 3 more.
Along with this amazing treehouse, they have a HOBBIT HOLE. Yes, an underground hobbit themed house on the edge of the mountain, sharing the same amazing views. We were not able to go inside because someone was currently staying there, but here is a picture of one of the side doors. The top is completely covered in grass, so you can't even see it from the street. Here is the listing for that property, also a must see listing: https://abnb.me/gR0ffkRge8
We also learned when talking to the owners, that they are in the process of building 3 new treehouses, all of which will be themed. The themes they have are Harry Potter, Farmhouse & Birdhouse. We were able to walk down and see the work they have done from the outside, and here are some pictures we took of the three.
They aren't done with construction yet, and therefore aren't on Airbnb, but they said that they are hoping to have them completed by October. If the treehouse is booked, you could also check out 'The Perch' which is another property that sits directly behind the treehouse, and also has amazing views, and is wheelchair/limited mobility accessible (no stairs).
